Hang Out with  Darleen Bailey Beard

Here is a fun and easy way to put up a bulletin board in only 30 minutes!

Materials provided: (Click each item to print)

  • Hang out with Darleen poster
  • List of "Tips for Young Authors"
  • Helpful Hints to Get Published
  • Inspiration
  • Copies of My Book Covers, see downloads
  • Photo of Darleen Bailey Beard, see downloads

Materials you'll need to provide:

  • Colored paper to cover the bulletin board
  • Scissors
  • Stapler
  • Clothesline  (this could be yarn or string)
  • Clothespins
  • A few old socks and some boxer shorts - the more colorful and "holier" the better!
  • Empty box of laundry soap

Preparation:

Cover your bulletin board in the color paper of your choice.

Print out this bulletin board packet with a color printer.

How-To:

Staple the clothesline onto your board.

Clip old socks and boxer shorts to the clothesline using clothes pins.

Staple the materials provided in this packet onto your board.

Staple the empty box of laundry soap onto the board.

Enjoy and be sure to tell your students that I collect clothesline memorabilia. I don't know why, but I love clotheslines! If you'd like to share a cute picture book with your students, read "Rosebud and Red  Flannel" by Ethel Pochocki. It's about a night gown hanging on a clothesline who falls madly in love wth a pair of long-johns. I won't tell  you what happens!
